4th of July Parade

Sean Pugh is the son of of a great couple and friends of ours. He was selected as the Grand Marshal of this year's Independence Day Parade.

His invitation from the City notes: "Each year we choose one person or group to represent our entire parade as the Grand Marshal. With this year's Olympic theme of 'Rock the Rings,' and with so many individuals recommending you, our choice was easy!"

Sean has been a member of the County Special Olympics for over 20 years. He currently participates in bowling, basketball, softball and soccer. Sean represented Washington State in the Special Olympics World Games in 1998.

Sean also had the privilege of carrying the Olympic torch in 2002 on its way through our city to the Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games.

And he bowled his personal best last week of 226!
Sean, we are so very proud of you.

The weather cooperated by being mostly cloudy with some sun breaks for the parade. About an hour after we got home it rained. It just wouldn't be the 4th of July in the PNW without it, folks.

I found the sight of this painted horse a little disturbing.

EYE SHADOW?!?

I agree with you on the eye shadow for the horse.
But, I love that your parade's grand marshall is a hometown person and not some big wig out of towner. The fourth should be a down home kind of affair.
Did they have lots of fun food booths? Kettle corn, cotton candy or funnel cakes?
Hope you had a great 4th.
